SO BIZARRE THE FATES INTERTWINED
(Free translation from Russian by the author Yosef Latman)
Pier Grafskaya and Sailor′s boulevard.
In memory my merge together.
Without me off was gallop Bol;var
In white dust, as in snows, far there.
The bay Omega disappeared then,
As if in a haze, that and hitherto not wane.
But I see the warships twinkling signal lights.
Waves rhythmically are swinging the gleams.
Sevastopol - permanent corvette white
In memory quietly emerges, as in dreams.
I could neither dream nor guess,
Wandering along the ruins Chersonese,
That a beautiful town - Jaffa I shall see
On a rock, that has rooted vertically in the sea,
By the golden sands Tel Aviv′s
Are foaming waves the Black sea′s .
And, as the past ages′ echo, I hear
The Call of horn,
like this is a Heaven′s song -
A song of Hope and Grief...
So bizarre the fates intertwined. -
The Stars in the Sky jointly have decide:
Our " now " and the antiquity merged both, and
Were having multiplied my exhausted forces...
I see light of the Ships signal lights,
Behind them - everything melts into dark,
But I see a white Corvette in the far.
And the bell tolls the time in the night...
