The Fairy Tale of Suvorov, of Potemkin and the taken-off hat

The Fairy Tale of Suvorov, of Potemkin and the taken-off hat

In Maxim Gorky's cafe-library one of readers has told other visitors:

  - I have written the tale of Suvorov and of Potemkin!

  - What can you write after Peskovsky? - the remark was heard.

  - I have taken the biography written by Peskovsky as a basis. There it is said that Suvorov well knew the Turkish language.

  - And what from this? - other exclamation was heard.

  - Yes, a question is ... Somehow arrived suddenly Potemkin to Suvorov.

"Alexander Vasilyevich is busy! Allow to report on your arrival?"

Potemkin doesn't wish to wait. Goes straight to Suvorov.

And Suvorov stands in the middle of hall in a European hat with his back to the door. And in that moment when the Potemkin came through the door, Suvorov the hat was removed.

Potemkin very surprised. And when Suvorov turned by face to him, Potemkin was interested:

  - Alexander Vasilyevich! A hat is a headdress for civilians, and you have been a military man since your youth. What does this hat mean?

  - And how you think, Grigory Aleksandrovich, why I have learned Turkish?

  - What relation to a hat does Turkish have?

  - Has. We are concentrated by attention on the current tasks. But there is a history centuries-old. It wasn't so simple to build the enormous empire. Abilities are necessary extraordinary, a great.

  - Perhaps, you are right. But what from this follows?

  - I discover a current news. The situation is very slippery, multi-layered. And what? I could do nothing. I have given an order. Have found a hat European which civilians should carry. Here, I have put on this hat. I went to the middle of the hall-room. And then took off this hat. Couldn't resist.

  - Very interestingly! You have interested me. Let me put this hat on and take it off.

  - Please, do.

Potemkin has looked at a hat. Hat as hat. He put the hat on. Then he became about the place where a moment before stood Suvorov, and took off his hat.

  - At you, Grigory Aleksandrovich, the important issue will be in the Crimea. You take a hat there. Might come in handy. For the successful solution of the question.

Potemkin didn't begin to argue, has taken away a hat.

They discussed a collected questions, and Potemkin went to the Crimea for the solution of an important diplomatic problem.

The story-teller has made a pause and has examined listeners.

  - Where now this hat? - someone has asked.

  - She after the Crimean war of 1853-1856 has moved to Western Europe. It is stored in the museum of diplomacy.

  Visitors of library were silent.

At last, one of them has commented on the heard story:

  - Yes, in book by Peskovsky of such story you won't read.

  - I heard that this hat after the Crimean war has moved not to Western Europe, but to Istanbul, - someone has begun to fantasize.

  Exclamations were heard:

  - Suvorov was an educated person!

  - He knew several languages!

  - He was updating his knowledge!

  - Except the biography written by Peskovsky there are biographic works about Suvorov, prepa by other authors!

After exchange of opinions visitors of cafe library have returned to reading books.
