On November 18, 2023, I published a culturological essay "Derzhavin, Schliemann, Tolstoy (Igor Bogdanov and an advance copy of the book 'A tutorial of a writer's success. Part I. Heinrich Schliemann and his lessons').

Part II is being prepared for publication now.
Part II was written by me in February-March 2016 - September-October 2016.
The translation of Part II from Russian into English was carried out by me in the period from August 9, 2021 to November 17, 2023.
The bulk of the text is ready for printing. But continuing to correct the text, I decided to supplement it with the following fragment (the first paragraph was placed in the book "from the very beginning". The addition begins with the words: "Let's deviate a little to the side").

A very beautiful plot!
Intrigued, I search the Internet for photos of Alma Kusurgasheva.
Along with her photos, there are also photos of Maxim Gorky (taken at that time).
A great writer - in a skullcap (apparently, the fashion was like that at that time: writers had to show interest in the cultural development of the so-called "suburbs").
He looks like a sad, tired man. I don't find anything romantic in his appearance.
I also don't find photos of bright oriental beauties who can extremely captivate famous cultural figures who are familiar with beautiful women.
But I find a material called "Maxim Kusurgashev Sr.". The author is listed as: "Zozulya Yuri Pavlovich: a literary diary" (https://stihi.ru/diary/zozuliayp/2012-12-21 ). ("Максим Кусургашев-старший". В качестве автора указан: "Зозуля Юрий Павлович: литературный дневник").
I start reading, and I find out: Polina (Alma) Kusurgasheva was married to a man of Polish origin. By indirect signs, it can be understood that she married him either before meeting Maxim Gorky, or after the beginning of this acquaintance.
Maybe this person was close to literature? Maybe Maxim Gorky was interested in him in the first place, and in Polina (Alma) in the second? Maybe Alma when she met Gorky - she was in the role of the wife of some cultural figure? And why not?
After his execution in 1937 (as a "Polish officer"), they tried not to remember him.
Where could a "Polish officer" have come from in 1937 - in Moscow? Not from the Polish military diplomatic mission? Or maybe from the Polish embassy?
The more likely version is that he appeared in Russia after the partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, that is, after 1795.
Or maybe after the marriage of Peter the Great to Marta Helena Skowronska (1712)?
Polina (Alma) Kusurgasheva herself (judging by the information about her) did not show herself in the creative sphere in any outstanding way.
But her son, Maxim, - he turned out to be a talented person.
If he was born in 1930, then he managed to communicate with his father for about seven years.
He (Maxim) wrote songs, worked as a correspondent, and proved himself as deputy director of the radio station "Yunost".
According to the customs of the 30s of the 20th century, the wife received her husband's surname, and the son received his father's surname.
But "His name was forbidden to be mentioned in the family for many years."
So, we know Polina (Alma) Kusurgasheva and Maxim Kusurgashev.
And what is the surname of the "Polish officer" who lived in Moscow in the 30s, and whether he was rehabilitated, we do not know.
But we have full opportunities to guess about Maxim Gorky's romantic hobbies and about the oriental beauties in his environment, whom he was extremely passionate. In general, we are studying, we are mastering the cultural history of Russia.

I plan to publish Part I and Part II under the same cover - in one edition (in one book).
