The second half of the 70s, the 80s of the 20th century is the time when more and more information was received in the USSR about how people live under developed "capitalism".
After the forced completion of works to the needs of the Military-Industrial Commission, Vladimir Vasilievich tried to find an application for his strength and energy.
One of his attempts looked like this:
He began to conduct sociological surveys among students on various topics.
He tried to join to a sociology a few more ideas , namely: it would be good to know what knowledge students need, to watch their career after receiving a diploma, to improve the educational process depending on the social needs and interests of students.
Many will not understand why all this is necessary.
But in these actions imperceptibly felt like a small "secret", not very clear to outside observers.
In the fog of the future, a nice tasty carrot seemed to be swaying. Students will receive useful knowledge, will become a rich persons after the receiving a diploma, and then, as is customary in developed countries, they will provide financial assistance to their native educational institution - as a token of gratitude.
Next is the mentioned "secret". If financial funds will come from successful students, then those who taught them will get something, too.
Of course, it cannot be said that the students were of no use. From the Southern Regions, some people came for diplomas, who were neither be, nor me, nor crow. They brought something nice with them.
But Vladimir Vasilievich treated such students from the Southern Regions in the same way as he treated all other students. The idea of the help for an educational institution from side of successful students was closer and more understandable to him.
He distributed pieces of paper with questions at lectures and seminars, then collected these sheets, and then, at an opportunity, developed the idea: would it be nice to keep in touch with students who received a diploma, to watch their careers, to improve the educational process depending on social needs and students' interests.
They looked at him with the unfocused eyes, but they did not say anything, they silently listened to him.
At some point, the news came. The party committee issued a resolution. The meaning of the resolution was something like this. If anyone wants to conduct sociological surveys among students, then let such a person first obtain permission from the party committee. It was a skillful move: the party committee is a public organization. From a legal, from a formal point of view, his decisions are not binding on the citizens of the USSR. If you want - do it, if you want - don't do it. Nothing to complain about. In practice, the situation was different.
Vladimir Vasilievich had to stop sociological surveys.
Bundles of sheets with the results of sociological surveys (among students) ceased to appear, and they did not irritate anyone.
All, as it were, remained with their own.
