There is a tree
It has a hole
Inside this hole
Resides an owl.
He does not fly
But hears us all
And here is the story
About a baby owl.
From the corner of your eye,
Like a child"s dream,
You can see his footprint
In the moonlight gleam.
Where the grass is growing
And the berries too
Baby owl is roaming
Invisible to you.
Once he heard a cry,
Somewhere - way too far
Cry of a little kitten,
As if the fallen star.
Somewhere under bolder,
In a little hole
Poor baby kitten
Was crying all alone;
Little owl said -
"I will find his home!"
And he found the kitten -
Crying all alone.
Sun already set
And the moon was shining
Suddenly the kitten
Saw someone's footprint running,
Moving in the circles
Jumping up and down
Going back and forward
On the sandy ground.
Eyes of little kitten
Sparked with dynamite
Tail piped and fiddled
As if conducting sound.
Kitten jumped into the forest
Chasing tracks away
Stars were glaring at this game
As if Shakespeare"s play.
As the moonlight,
Let the owlet roam.
Kitten ran right through the forest
Straight to kitten"s home.
